It would be almost impossible if you hadn’t heard of Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay – after all, there are goats on the roof and lines to get in from the time they open until the time they close! That means you are also likely aware of their outdoor beer garden, Stabbur. It’s hard to miss when you drive through town, as you can immediately spot the large green space where many are gathered to play yard games, watch their favorite sporting event or listen to a live band.

If you have visited you also know that those festivities are usually accompanied by a beverage in hand – which brings us to to our next #HiddenGem – the Swedish Sangria. I have taste tested many sangrias in my day –  but there is something special about these. Maybe it’s because these are made with Cava instead of red wine, or maybe it’s the atmosphere of this magical place – but if I had to pinpoint it, the game changer is the Swedish glögg. A glögg is essentially the Swedish version of a mulled wine – and all the extra spices make this drink delicious! If you’re in the area, we highly recommend giving one (or two) a try. Click here to see their full drink menu and don’t forget – they have food too!
