There are so many amazing things in Door County that it’s almost impossible to choose our favorites. However, after spending so much time in Northern Door – we realized that there are some hidden gems that took us a while to discover and that many others may not know of. So we have decided to take some time feature them in what we’re calling our Hidden Gem Series!

Up first – 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 in Ellison Bay! One of the oldest landmarks and businesses in northern Door County – the general store was built in 1900 and looks pretty much the same as it did then! While some places close down during the slower seasons – this grocery store is open year-round and every day! They offer a full line of groceries, fresh meats, deli, ice cream, lottery, beer, liquor, and even old school video rentals.

Located less than 10 minutes from The Cottage, this little store is so convenient for those times that you forget something or just want to stop to look around.
